AC Repair

The only thing worse than not having air conditioning at all on a hot day is having air conditioning that doesn't seem to be working quite right. Maybe it's blowing hot air, or perhaps it won't even turn on. Regardless of the issue, you need to get your air conditioning repaired quickly to keep yourself and your family comfortable.

Low Refrigerant

As the name might suggest, refrigerant is a crucial part of any AC cooling system. This chemical compound is found within the copper coils of an AC system. Here, it collects hot air, lowers the air's temperature, and sends the cool air out into the room while the heat is expelled outside. Without refrigerant, your AC won't be doing much of anything.

Frozen Evaporator Coils

The evaporator coils are home to the above-mentioned refrigerant that is crucial to the cooling system. Unfortunately, these coils can have problems themselves. Lack of airflow, dirty coils, and low refrigerant can all lead to the coils freezing, which will require some professional maintenance to thaw, restore, and ensure the problem doesn't happen again.

Dirty Condenser Coils

Not that dissimilar from the aforementioned problem, condenser coils that are dirty will fail pretty miserably at the crucial heat exchange that takes place inside an AC unit. In fact, the cooling efficiency can drop by a third or more if your condenser coils are in need of cleaning and maintenance.

Leaking Ducts

With a central HVAC system, you may notice you suddenly have higher energy bills and are constantly tinkering with your thermostat. One cause you'll want to investigate is leaking ducts. Much like any other leak, your ducts can have damage or outright holes that cause cool air to leak out, minimizing the efficiency of the central cooling system. A professional can help investigate and repair.

Thermostat Problems

When you've got issues with your AC unit, one of the first things you should check is the thermostat. Many times, the hardware of your AC system is perfectly functional, and it's actually the thermostat that's out of whack — sending incorrect signals and misregistering the temperature. This can lead to your system overworking or perhaps shutting off altogether, despite being a perfectly functioning unit. If you do find your thermostat is broken, you'll want to call a professional ASAP.

Air conditioning systems can have many quirks and issues, but they're nothing a quick call to a local professional can't get sorted very quickly!
